About the Cambridge Theatre

This dynamic young theatre is renowned as one of the most attractive venues in the West End and, fittingly, has housed some of the most eye-catching and inspirational plays and musicals of recent times. The Cambridge Theatre joined the LW Theatres family in 2000 and shortly after housed the controversial but highly successful Jerry Springer: The Opera. The musical version of Roald Dahl’s beloved Matilda currently plays to packed houses and enraptured audiences in its intimate auditorium.

As well as a generously sized 1,200-seat main auditorium for conferences and launches, the multi-functional Cambridge Theatre also features a private suite capable of seating up to 14 people, or 50 standing, for smaller events. Where is the Cambridge Theatre located?

The Cambridge Theatre is positioned on Earlham Street in London’s Seven Dials district, within the West End. Its central location places it close to Covent Garden, Soho and many of the area’s dining, shopping and cultural highlights.

What is the nearest tube to the Cambridge Theatre?

Covent Garden and Leicester Square stations provide the quickest access to the Cambridge Theatre. Tottenham Court Road is also within walking distance, offering connections on the Central, Northern and Elizabeth lines. The theatre’s Seven Dials location ensures straightforward travel from across London.

What are the seating arrangements?

The Cambridge Theatre has a capacity of 1,224.

Are there food and drinks at the Cambridge Theatre?

Three bars operate across the three public levels of the theatre, each serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks along with a selection of snacks. Bars open before the performance and during the interval.

Is the Cambridge Theatre accessible?

Can tickets be exchanged or refunded once they have been purchased?

Exchanges: If the show you’re seeing has more than one performance then you’re in luck. We’ll always try to exchange your ticket where possible. Tickets can be exchanged up to 48 hours prior to the event. A £3 per ticket exchange fee will apply. Tickets can only be exchanged for the same show. If you have booked a hospitality package, this will also be exchanged (subject to availability).
