This June sees two major productions opening in London’s West End, as part of LW Theatres offering of shows.
Disney Theatrical Group’s new production of Hercules, will open at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, whilst Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary musical Evita is set to show at The London Palladium.
For Hercules, a stage adaptation has been in development for several years. It had its first major workshop at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park and later had a production at the Paper Mill Playhouse. Most recently, a run took place in Hamburg last year.
Now, with music and lyrics by Alan Menken and David Zippel, a brand-new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott, Disney’s Hercules delivers a thrilling night out that leaves you ready to conquer Mount Olympus.
The new production of Evita is helmed by Jamie Lloyd, the award-winning director renowned for his bold and innovative interpretations of classic works. Fresh from his work on The Tempest and Much Ado About Nothing, Lloyd reunites with producer Michael Harrison for what promises to be a thrilling re-examination of Eva Perón’s extraordinary journey.
Disney’s Hercules opens at Theatre Royal Drury Lane from Fri 6 June 2025. Evita opens at The London Palladium from Sat 14 June 2025.
